About RideRight

It started with one ride that changed everything.

RideRight began after a crash that could’ve ended a young rider’s life. Instead, it became the reason to start something new — a way to help others stay safe, ride smart, and look out for each other.

We’re not here to preach or point fingers. We’re here because we’ve lived it. We know what it feels like to get on a bike, chase a little thrill, and not think twice — until something happens. RideRight exists to make sure more riders don’t have to learn those lessons the hard way.

The Day That Changed Everything

July 24, 4:50 p.m.
It began like any other summer afternoon. The rain had just stopped, the air was cool, and my friends and I were hanging out, enjoying the break in the weather. That’s when I noticed a motorized bike in the driveway — and decided to take it for a quick ride.

The road was still wet. As I came up to a stop sign, I couldn’t slow down. I collided with a car and was thrown over it from the impact. My right side — jaw, shoulder, pelvis, femur, and knee — was shattered, and my heart stopped. Paramedics revived me and rushed me to St. Joe’s Hospital, where doctors stabilized me before transferring me to Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago.

At Lurie, I spent days sedated and weeks in recovery. There were surgeries, metal rods, and moments when even small movements felt impossible. My parents never left my side. Slowly, I learned to move again — one painful step at a time.

When I finally returned home, the feeling was indescribable. Friends, laughter, normal life — all of it felt new again. That summer changed everything. It taught me how fragile life can be, how powerful recovery is, and how much it matters to ride with awareness.

That experience became the reason for RideRight — a way to share what I learned and help others stay safe, no matter what or where they ride.

The Journey

Fall 2025 (Present)

Shifting Into Gear

Summer 2025

Never Saw It Coming

RideRight is growing into a community movement — partnering with schools, cities, and safety advocates to share what we’ve learned and help riders protect themselves and each other.

What began as one crash turned into months of recovery — and the idea to build something that could make a difference.

Meet The Crew

We come from the communities we serve, and we’re united by one belief: safety starts when people feel seen.

This is the crew making it happen, one story, campaign, and ride at a time.

Our Goals

RideRight isn’t about rules — it’s about real awareness.

We want riders to think before they ride, to make small choices that matter, and to see safety as confidence, not caution.

Our goals are simple because they have to be.

What We’re Working Toward

Culture Shift

Make helmets normal. Make safety cool.

We want helmet use to be seen as smart, expressive, and necessary.. not lame or optional. Through community storytelling, peer modeling, and bold creative, we’re shifting the vibe.

Hyper-Local Education

Safety looks different block to block.

Our resources are tailored to local laws, lived experience, and language. From crash response guides to school pop-ups, we want to focus on what helps most, where it’s needed most.

Crash Recovery Support

The ride doesn’t end at impact.

We’re helping riders (and their families) find clarity and care after a crash. From physical recovery and mental health to the cost of bills and gear replacement.

Where We’re Headed Next

From one accident came a mission to protect thousands more.

We imagine a future where:

  • Every rider wears a helmet because they want to, not because they have to

  • Families know what to do after a crash

  • Young voices lead the conversation around safety

  • RideRight helps build the next generation of safer, smarter riders

This is just the beginning — and we’re riding forward, together.
